Important News and Updates

Summer EBT is coming to Colorado this 2024!

Summer EBT is a new program that provides nutritious food to eligible students in the summer months when they are not in school.

Your child is automatically signed up for Summer EBT through SNAP, Colorado Works (TANF), if they participate in the National School Lunch Program (Free or Reduced Priced Lunch), or Medicaid if your income is below guidelines. Unsure? Submit a household income or school meal application at their school and make sure their information is up-to-date this month to ensure they receive S-EBT for summer 2024.

Learn more about Summer EBT here.

WIC Funding Update!

We have kept you updated on the WIC funding situation as Congress negotiated an agreement to fund the government through fiscal year 2024. Due to increased demand as a result of program improvements, high food costs, and the end of pandemic era assistance, WIC funding needs were $1B higher than earlier projections.

On March 3rd, Congress proposed a funding package for fiscal year 2024, which included full funding for WIC. On March 8, this proposal was approved by Congress. We are grateful to Congress for fully funding WIC, ensuring that new parents, infants, and young children can continue to receive uninterrupted access to the vital nutrition resources they need to thrive. Thank you to everyone who participated in our recent action alerts urging Congress to fully fund WIC.

We are working to end hunger by building broad-based support, led by those most directly impacted, to boldly pursue policy, systems and social change that ensures all Coloradans have equitable access to nutritious, culturally relevant food.
