Hunger is a serious—and often invisible—problem in Colorado.
In tens of thousands of homes across the state, our neighbors are struggling to make ends meet. Parents are forced to choose between buying adequate, nutritious food for their children and paying rent and other bills. Too many children start the day hungry, unable to focus on learning at school. And, after a lifetime of working, Colorado seniors are left to fend for themselves and face the question of whether to buy needed medication or food.
But hunger is solvable.
There are sustainable solutions to ensure that Coloradans have access to needed nutrition through healthy, affordable food. Together, we are making progress in the state. We can make Colorado hunger-free.

Hunger Free Colorado is the state’s leading anti-hunger organization leveraging the power of collaboration, system change, policy change and social change to end hunger in Colorado.

WHAT WE DO
Hunger Free Colorado was established from a merger of the Colorado Anti-Hunger Network and the Colorado Food Bank Association to create a unified voice against hunger in Colorado. Launched in 2009, the nonprofit organization seeks innovative solutions to the state’s hunger challenges. To immediately reduce hunger in our community, we identify, investigate and expose unnecessary gaps and barriers that prevent food access to Coloradans at risk of hunger.
Our team works to increase public awareness of the issue and resources available as well as educate elected officials and their constituents to implement policy change, so we can ensure all Coloradans have access to nutritious, affordable food.
